Think about the last few discovery calls you had.
Chances are, you heard some of the same questions. “How much does it cost?” “How long does it take?” “Do you work with businesses like mine?” “What’s the difference between you and the person I found on Instagram?”
Now picture your future clients asking those same questions. Except they’re not asking you. They’re asking ChatGPT.
That’s why an FAQ page has quietly become one of the most useful pages on your website. It answers the exact questions people ask AI, in your words, in a format AI can easily understand.

Why an FAQ Page Matters for AI
An FAQ page helps AI recommend your business because it matches the question and answer format people use with AI tools, giving AI clear, direct answers about your business straight from the source.
People don’t type “brand strategist DC” into ChatGPT. They ask full questions like “How do I know if I need a brand strategist?” or “Who helps women entrepreneurs fix their brand messaging?”
When your website already has those questions and clear answers, you’re handing AI the information it’s looking for, instead of making it guess or pull from someone else’s website.
4 Reasons Every Business Needs One Now
1. It speaks AI’s language.
AI tools are built around questions and answers. A page full of real questions with direct answers is one of the easiest things on your site for AI to read and reuse.
2. It answers buying questions.
Questions about price, process, and fit are what people ask right before they decide. Answering them clearly helps you show up when someone is ready to hire.
3. It controls the story.
If you don’t answer “How much does it cost?” AI may guess, or use a competitor’s pricing to answer instead. Your FAQ page lets you set the record straight.
4. It saves you time.
A good FAQ page answers questions before your discovery calls, so the people who book already understand how you work.
What Questions to Include
Aim for 8 to 12 real questions. The best source is your own inbox, DMs, and call notes. Here’s a question bank to get you started.
About who you help
Who do you work with?
Do you work with [specific type of business or person]?
Do you work with clients outside of [your city]?
About your services
What exactly do you offer?
What’s the difference between [service A] and [service B]?
What’s included when I work with you?
About price and value
How much do your services cost?
Do you offer payment plans?
Is there a way to start small?
About process and results
How does the process work?
How long does it take to see results?
What do I need to have ready before we start?
About choosing you
What makes you different from other [your profession]?
How do I know if I’m ready to work with you?
You don’t need to share exact prices if you don’t want to. Even “Packages start at…” or “Pricing depends on X and Y, and most clients invest between…” gives AI and potential clients something useful to work with.
How to Write FAQ Answers AI Understands
Answer in the first sentence. Don’t warm up. If the question is “How long does it take?” start with the timeframe.
Keep it to two to four sentences. Short, clear answers are easier for people and AI to use.
Use your full business name in some answers. “Uniquely-Digital works with established women entrepreneurs” connects the answer to your business more clearly than “We work with…”
Write the question the way clients actually say it. Use their words, not industry jargon.
Be specific. “We help small businesses grow” says almost nothing. “We help acupuncture and wellness practices in DC book more new patients” gives AI something it can repeat.
Here’s the difference:
Vague:
Q: Who do you work with?
A: We work with all kinds of amazing people who are ready to grow!
Clear:
Q: Who does Uniquely-Digital work with?
A: Uniquely-Digital works with established women entrepreneurs who have an online presence but aren’t getting consistent sales from it. Most clients are service providers, coaches, and small business owners who are ready to fix their brand message and turn visibility into bookings.
Where to Put Your FAQs
A dedicated FAQ page. Link it in your main menu or footer so it’s easy to find.
On your service pages. Add three or four questions specific to each service at the bottom of that page.
On blog posts. A short FAQ section at the end of a post answers follow up questions and gives AI more to work with. (You’ll find one at the end of this post.)
Using WordPress? Use the Yoast FAQ Block
If you use Yoast SEO, it includes an FAQ block in the WordPress editor. It formats your questions and answers neatly and adds structured data, which is behind the scenes code that labels them as questions and answers for search engines.
Google no longer shows FAQ dropdowns in search results for most business websites, but clear labeling still helps search engines and other tools understand your content. It’s an easy win that takes no extra effort. If “structured data” is a new term, the AI Visibility Glossary explains it under Schema Markup.
FAQ Page Mistakes to Avoid
Putting FAQs inside a PDF or image. AI and search engines may not read them. Always use regular text on the page.
Writing sales copy instead of answers. If the answer doesn’t actually answer the question, people and AI both notice.
Copying another business’s FAQ. Your questions should come from your clients, and your answers should sound like you.
Setting it and forgetting it. Update your FAQ when your services, prices, or process change. Outdated answers can become the wrong story AI tells about you.
Your FAQ Page Is One Piece of the Puzzle
An FAQ page works best alongside a clear About page, consistent profiles, and reviews that back you up. I cover the full picture in How to Get Your Business Recommended by ChatGPT: 7 Steps, and you can see how reviews add outside proof in Do Google Reviews Help AI Recommend Your Business?
Before you write your FAQ, find out what AI already says about you. The AI Invisibility Test is free, takes about ten minutes, and shows you whether AI sees you as Invisible, Misread, or Cited. The questions AI gets wrong about you are great ones to answer first.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many questions should an FAQ page have?
Most small businesses do well with 8 to 12 questions. That’s enough to cover the main questions clients ask without overwhelming readers. Start with the questions you hear most often on calls and in messages.
Does an FAQ page help with SEO too?
Yes. An FAQ page helps with both SEO and AI visibility because it answers real questions in clear, searchable language. It can also help your website show up for longer, question based searches.
Should I include pricing in my FAQ?
If you can, yes. Even a starting price or typical range helps. If you leave pricing out entirely, AI may guess or use a competitor’s pricing when someone asks what your service costs.
Can I use AI to write my FAQ page?
AI can help you brainstorm questions and draft answers, but the final version should use your real client questions and sound like you. Always check that every answer is accurate for your business.
